Dear Parents/Guardians/Students:

I wanted to let you know about two exciting opportunities for course work, including Dual Enrollment at BPSTIL after hours, perhaps 4-5:30.

The two opportunities we are looking at target two different groups of students.

1.   The first is a developmental math course provided by BPCC for students who need a higher Math sub-component on the ACT. This course would include and ACT voucher for the April ACT for qualifying students.  The cost of this course would be covered by a grant, and there is the potential of providing transportation for students as well.  We are tentatively looking at Tuesday and Thursdays.

2.  A dual enrollment Pre-Calculus course offered at BPSTIL at the same time.  This would be for students who want this higher level math.  Again, this would be covered by a grant and have the potential for transportation provided.

Please email me at nichole.nuccio@bossierschools.org and let me know if you (or your student) might be interested in one of these opportunities.  This information will be shared at the district level on Nov 1.

Thank you,

Nichole Nuccio

The 2016-2017 Yearbook is delayed due to this summer's construction. It caused major delays as the internet and power were turned off and the school was not accessible to faculty due to safety concerns. As such, the Yearbook staff was unable to access any files or programs to complete the yearbook as this yearbook was designed to feature the 100th graduating class of Bossier High. As soon as it arrives, we will post it on the website and our new Bossier High mobile app.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Dear Parent/Guardian:

It is hard to believe that we are almost half way through the first grading period! Our students have demonstrated a strong start to the academic year and we are certainly proud of them.

This school year, students who are enrolled in the English I, English II, Algebra I, and Geometry courses are now expected to complete diagnostic and interim assessments associated with the new Leap 2025 comprehensive course assessments, formerly known as the EOC or "End of Course" test.  The students recently completed the diagnostic assessment which shows students and teachers what they know as they approach a new academic year. The Interim assessments will serve as benchmark measurements and will help to guide instruction toward mastery of the content presented courses that will be tested with the Leap 2025 State Assessment at the end of each semester.

The Leap 2025 State Assessment will take place from November 29th until December 12th. Actual testing schedules for content areas will be released prior to Thanksgiving break. It is very important that students arrive on time to school during the testing window.  Students enrolled in English I, English II, English III, Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, and US History are required to take the Leap 2025 State Assessment. A passing score on the assessment and in coursework will be required to obtain credit for the course.

Also, Juniors and some select Seniors will take the ACT in March.  Seniors will be highly encouraged to take the exam on this date, even if they have tested previously. For National ACT testing dates offered away from the Bossier High campus, please login to ACT.org.

Please feel free to direct any questions to me at nichole.nuccio@bossierschools.org or (318) 549-6707. You may also contact your student's teacher or guidance counselor.

Thank you for your continued support!
