Mrs. Moak’s English I students have officially wrapped up their Fahrenheit 451 unit — and what a journey it has been!

Throughout this unit, students participated in interactive activities designed to deepen comprehension and critical thinking. They:

• Engaged in a high-energy “flamethrower” review game

• Worked collaboratively to solve a themed escape room

• Created detailed drawings using direct text evidence

• Practiced partner reading to bring key dialogue to life

• Participated in gallery walks analyzing symbolism and theme

Students strengthened their skills in citing evidence, analyzing character development, and exploring big ideas like censorship, individuality, and the power of knowledge.

So proud of our Class of 2029 Bearkats for their hard work and thoughtful discussions throughout this unit. 🔥🐾

BoHS thanks CMS Hastie for assisting the snow shoveling team with his labor and his blow torch. We also thank the custodians and administrators who attacked the ice on the sidewalks for several hours and Ms. Hutchens for logistical support. (The Principal shoveled while wearing a suit).
